DONT DO IT

sometimes it feels like the only way anyone would notice.

like, if i actually went up in flames, maybe then they’d stop scrolling for five seconds and realize i exist.

i’m not saying i’d do it.
just—sometimes i think about how loud that would be.
how bright.
how impossible to ignore.

because right now, it’s like i’m invisible.
i talk and no one hears me.
i cry and people say “you’re being dramatic.”

but if i burned?
no one could say i was overreacting then.

it’s not about wanting to die.
it’s about wanting someone to care before it gets that far.

but they don’t.
so i just keep sitting here
feeling like a spark that never caught
just smoke
quiet
and alone.
